Kyla Campbell MSW
Hi! My name is Kyla (Sweetgrass Knowledge Keeper Woman) and an Anishinaabe-Kwe from Whitefish River First Nation, in the Sudbury area.
I completed my Honours Bachelor of Indigenous Social Work at Laurentian University, followed by my Master of Social Work – Indigenous Field of Study at Wilfrid Laurier. I’m currently pursuing my Ph.D. at Queen’s University, where my research focuses on creating land-based healing for individuals who are part of the FASD spectrum.
Social work has always been a part of my life. I was raised in a strong circle of First Nations, Métis, and Inuit social workers and elders. I’m a Registered Clinician with over 13 years of experience, specializing in FASD, generational trauma, and addiction. My approach blends both Western and traditional wholistic practices to provide compassionate, client-centered therapy for youth, adults, and families — both virtually and in-person.
My focus areas include Mental Health and Addictions, Men’s Mental Health, and counselling for individuals on the Fetal Alcohol Spectrum. I incorporate alternative, land-based healing practices rooted in Indigenous knowledge systems. I’m certified in Trauma-Informed Therapy and Radical Suicide Intervention, along with several other Western modalities to meet the diverse needs of the people I support.
